Gibraltar Sports Law Conference 24th & 25th November 2016

Gibraltar’s profile in international sporting events is consistently disproportionate to its small size.  From outstanding performance of our athletes at international sporting events, through the efforts of many clubs and associations, to the Gibraltar Football Association membership in UEFA and FIFA, Gibraltar’s sporting footprint belies its scale.

The University of Gibraltar is organising a two day Sports Law Conference in Gibraltar on 24 & 25 November, 2016 which will be of interest to all career professionals involved in this growing area of legal practice.

Topics will include doping and discrimination in sport; the financial fair play rules; the role of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court in settling sports disputes; Sports and Politics: UEFA and FIFA Cases; and the Court of Arbitration for Sport and an emerging ‘Lex Sportiva’.

The Conference will be addressed by several leading  internationally renowned speakers from Gibraltar and Europe, including Michael Llamas, QC, Gibraltar Attorney General and President of the Gibraltar Football Association, and  Professor Ian Blackshaw  International Sports Lawyer.
